Sitting here in my hotel room about an hour before I have to leave to get to the arena. I though to myself what the heck. I wanted to write some things before I go. This has been a fun week, I won't lie and say the weight cut was easy, but man That Matt Hume is a wizard and though there were times where I just wanted to lay down sleep and hope the weight would just vanish, he was on me every day to eat my meals and above all keep drinking that water. I was close to averaging about 2 gallons a day and If I never see another piece of Broccoli or Carrot again I will be happy as ever. either way the job was done and I made the weight. today has been just a lot of sleep and spending some time with family before I go off. I am excited to get into that cage and I just want to work on the things I did wrong last fight. I am going out there with confidence and the desire to win this fight. I thank you all very much for even taking the time to check on here and read my thoughts and taking the time to post your opinions, I know its been a bumpy road these past fights. I am working so hard to get it all dialed in and get back in the win column for a long time running. Its time to flip the switch and wish you all the best in life. be around when I have some time.

That was a tough one, but keep your head up. You are still the man.
PS. The Molon Labe tat rocks.
to jens' website/t-shirt people: can there possibly be a shirt with "f$#& that! I'm not done!".(think that's the exact quote). just a suggestion, but it was moving, and as usual inspirational.
Jens you did great, All the girls from the Valley are behind ya. Keep your head up like you always do. I know it is a bitter sweet time-my sympathy on the loss of your friend & congrats on your baby boy.
guess what? Still with you through it all.
Jens,
We still love ya bunches, and we still have hope. I know you will come back. Take some time to get it all back, life has taken you for a ride. Our family will still be cheering for you with all of our hearts.
Jessie
work harder, you can't get by on pure talent any longer. The game has changed; change with it

Hey you i just watched the fight and you just got caught with a nasty body shot..I was very sad when you doughted youself!! Everyone gets caught and sometimes more than once...You are the best!! reguardless of the outcome of the last couple fights.. you will get it right and i believe in you sooo much and you are truly my inspiration..I know you of all people don't ever have excuses but seriously some things happen that you can't control and no matter how hard you try to put them on the backburner they are still there and on your mind and of course i am no professional lol but i for sure couldn't train let alone fight with the things you have just been through.. I wish you the best don't ever give up!!! you are my reason for watching mma and the sport needs more fighters like you!! You are such a great role model!! Again I wish you the best in everything you do and you have a fan for life!! I hope you enjoy your time off with the family have good one and i am of course always waiting for your writtings and can't wait to see your next bout...

Jens looked good.
His aggressive gameplan, I thought, was a good idea- and it was.
Seems like Jens got caught with a liver shot, and if anyone saw Bernard Hopkins versus Oscar De La Hoya, or is a bit familiar with Bas Rutten knows that a liver shot will take just about every ounce of upright out of your legs. I was surprised when it landed that Jens didn't collapse.
Yeah he lost...yeah, 3 losses in a row.
It happens. And, just like in Jens case, it happens to the best sometimes.
Don't forget who he fought though.

It was said that Urijah Faber is top of the 145# and just got caught by Mike Brown. I, personally think Brown is better than Faber, but that could be argued.
Leonard Garcia is no slouch...who saw his 3 round battle with Roger Huerta?
Losing to talent as sharp as this is nothing to lower your head about.
How I see it, with the addition of Wagnney Fabiano (did I spell that correct?), Jeff Curran, and Takeshi Inoue, (Takanori Gomi would be in that list if I can fid him?) Jens Pulver still ranks among MMA elite 145#.
Would Fabiano beat Curran? Would Inoue beat Faber? Would Garcia beat Gomi?
Hey, this sport has champions lose their belt to underdogs, grueling 5 round title bouts end in horrific decisions, better fighters losing a match by a cut from a lucky elbow, and occasionally, even the greatest of fighters question themselves from a loss they didn't anticipate.
No...you are not done Jens.
one 34 yr old to another, one father to another, you are a class act. the fact that you show emotion shows how strong of a man you are. keep on keeping on. those who feel it know it. much respect.
Jens after the fight during the interview, I got extrermly pissed when the interviewer asked if you still had a place in the division. To me he has no place to ask you that. You are legend and have been on an emotional roller coaster as of late and i believe that we are on the verge of seeing a new little evil with the new training and camp. I love watching you fight and you are one of my heroes. God bless.
I just watched your fight tonight and thought I would write something to maybe encourage you a little. I respect you and your drive to be great. Keep your head up, I have faith in you. I have followed your career a little in MMA, from your fights with BJ to your Ultimate Fighter coaching to your fights with Urijah and look forward to watching your next battle. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers!
From,
A Nobody
Jens you are always great to watch!! Dont give up, you got caught but tomorrow is a new day!
Jens you have heart and humility and kindness and for that you will always be a champion!!
Take care,
Bronwen
Hey Jens, You're a good guy. You won me over during your TUF season. I really saw what kind of guy you are, sincere & humble, and a true champ no matter what happens in the cage. So sorry to hear about the death of your friend. I was rooting for you tonight, sorry you didn't come out with the "W". I know it was tough for you, and we all know you deserve to be on top where you belong. Moving forward, follow your heart, it's not always an easy thing to do, but it won't steer you wrong. Congrats to you and your family on the new baby. You'll always have a fan in me - LYW in Atlanta
That was a lucky shot to the ribs to get you down. Keep your head up, you will be a legend. Can't wait to see you come back home to Iowa, continue your conditioning, and get ready for your next MMA fight. Later
Your one of the best Jens, We always appreciate what you do. Dont sweat the loss. Your a hall of fame all star!

Just want you to know man that was hard to watch losing to Faber again but we are still behind you bro. Im from Nebraska and grew up with people training around Pat, Jeremy Horn, Brian Dunn, and all of the old school boys. So don't lose your poise man ur still one of the best and dont hang your head.
Keep your head up Jens. You'll be back, they can't keep you down.
Man tough times are what they are but nobody WHO KNOWS MMA wants to see you leave just because the past 3 fights... your a badass and yeh training with matt hume you still got fights left in you... stick with it man we like watching you fight regardless... Knockout Power baby
Jens, you made me a fan last fight. You never really see fighters get that emotional in public. I hope you get back on track....34 is the new 20
Just watched the fight and hope you don't give up. You are still one bada** and we all enjoy watching you in the ring. You'll come back and show everyone what you are made of.

I'm sorry Jens... I was so hoping you would beat his ass. It doesn't matter though.. you are still you and I fucking love you as a fighter, and I love your style. I'm sure that if you want to, you will bounce back and be back on top whenever you want to be. Much love dude

Time to be the bat! Swing for the Mother F*cking fences! I'll be back after the fight to give congrats.

AMC says GO JENS!
Everyone at AMC is watching in full support! GO JENS!
Good luck Jens! Break the pretty boy's face!
Blessssssssssssss I want to wish you all the best for tonight Jens, perhaps I share with you part of my public statement to the Matt-Hughes Forum when people talked about the possibility of a third loss
"what a lot of people probably dont understand is that I could watch Jens Pulver fight and lose for the rest of his career, and it wouldnt change one ounce of loyalty or love that I have for him. I want him to win because I think he deserves to win, I think he has the skills to win...and I want him to be happy, I want the best blessings GOD can possibly bestow"
I honnestly believe that you can smush Faber, and go on to gain the title and reign for a long time. I love you not just because of what you do (fight) but because of who you are!
That wont change anytime soon.
I started watching Jens when he was wrestling in high school. He put some good whippings on some friends, he was and is tenacious. Just something about him that I admired not even knowing what he had been through. Then one day I see him on UFC and like damn....he is still a bad ass. I still have a couple of his matches on tape and watch them periodically. Wishing Jens nothing but the best. You mean more to more people then he'll ever know. Keep it up
prayin for ya! You're a warrior! Put it to him.
WAR JENS!!!!!!
Go Jens! I know you can win! you took the worst butt chin could dish out and you still kept coming! Good luck man
YOU ARE GREAT YOU GOT THE SPIRIT AND WILL POWER GO AND DO THE DEED
IF YOU DO YOUR VERY BEST AND GIVE ALL YOU GOT YOU ARE A WINNER
GOOD LUCK MY FRIEND
You are toast brother. Don't go!!
YzErman
