checking in

Submitted by Jens Pulver on Mon, 01/12/2009 - 19:07.

well another week about to start and more training on the horizon lol. I love being up here in Sea Town, like I said before I wish I could spend a full two months up here but damn if that's been able to happen so far. No excuses, I feel great and look forward to this fight. so many people to dedicate it too I won't even try to list em. The Cox family, who are basically my family since the day I moved to iowa, have been going through some tough times at the moment, and it sucks cause once I did leave Iowa, shit like this happens and its all I can do to not get on a plane and head back. All three kids were in a bad car accident the other night and the two Girls took the worst of it. I am writing this cause its the only way I can vent. its the only way I can take five minutes and just crack. I wish them a fast recovery, and Hope they all know that I love them, and I appreciate the entire family for adopting me 9 years ago when I moved to Iowa. they are the reason I am still out there and won't move back to Idaho or washington, (its sure not the training anymore LOL). They are truly my family. So with that I am out to practice, I wish you all the best week possible and don't get too mad out there dealing with all the lazy dumb asses that walk this planet. Remember to take a minute and help someone out, for no reason other than to help.

you know I am shit at those titles, don't really ever know what to write them. Any way if you haven't heard yet, My son Karson was born, Dec 16th, 10:30 a.m. I am still in a big daze, this week has been full of everything but sleep. I mean i have had none. The one only reason I hoping to fight in March, not Jan. It is what it is though so no complaints. I am off to Seattle the day after Christmas, this fight is gonna be for all of you who have always taken the time to tune it and see whats up. I am not gonna waste peoples time talking about what I am gonna do, what I wanna do and all that. Its simple its laid out and its right in front of me. I am jacked for this fight. Like i said before this is one of those moments I have always thrived on, the times where everyone has written me off, everyone is counting me out, and most of all my schedule is up in chaos. I love it. I love this and I love what I can do from this. I hope you enjoy the fights, will be in touch.

Well SH#T, is about all I got to say about that fight. Props to Leonard for the win. I am not sure where to start but I figured I should probably write and tell you that read this I am sorry for the performance. I felt great mentally and physically but things happen. I am very confident in my new training and in no way want this fight to reflect the things I am learning. Matt Hume is a great instructor and AMC is a great place to train, EndZone athletics as well. Its just gonna take some time to get the new ideas and game plans down, if I could learn it all and have it second nature in five weeks then damn that would be sweet but I assure you I am getting it all dialed in pretty quick and I know the final outcome will be worth it. I never had the ability to have amature fighting and all that, I came into the sport and just started throwing, Its tough cause I have that legend status and theres no real way to lay low and go unnoticed while I try to learn. So I just get out there and keep every fight exciting and hope at the end of the day I will still have a job. This fight hurt to lose cause I feel I let my New coach and team down. My life has always been an up and down roller coaster, but sometimes I want off the ride and just hang at the top once again. I don't want to ramble on about it all because well thats boring. I thank all of you who take the time to read and post comments and appreciate all of your support. Have a great set of holidays, I will be laying low and waiting the arrival of my Son Karson (just a few weeks away). Catch up with me if you play on PC, Call of Duty 5 the server is called toastsuckerpunch ent. the IP 72.37.228.195 I am tagged Rumina in game. Be good all.

Gettin Ready For The Fight...

Submitted by admin on Tue, 10/28/2008 - 17:32.

Over the weekend I caught up with Jens, who’s been preparing for his upcoming match with Leonard Garcia.

Julie: How are you feeling going into the fight? I know you were all prepared before they postponed the match, does that screw you up at all?
Jens: I’m feeling really good. Really excited. The postponement actually gave me a chance to change my pace up. I’ve been learning a lot of new things and just training a lot.

Julie: Where have you been training for this fight?
Jens: I’ve been at EndZone Athletics in Washington with Joel Jamieson. Also working with Matt Hume from AMC, the American Martial Arts Center. It’s been really amazing. For the first time ever I went through a training camp. It was a really humbling experience for me.

Julie: As we all know, Urijah will be fighting Mike Brown the same night of your match. Can you weigh in on that for us? Any predictions?
Jens: Urijah is a tough guy. He’s at the top of his game, and he’s reached some new levels, especially in his stand-up. I know he’ll give a good performance. All I can say is that it’s going to take a really strong competitor to beat Urijah.

Julie: And as for you and Urijah…anything in the future?
Jens: At this point I’m still learning and taking things in. I’d like to take some time to work on all this new stuff I’m learning. When the time comes though, I’ll get with Monte [Cox] and we’ll discuss where to go next.

Julie: Well, one thing is for sure, in the very near future you’ll have a new son!
Jens: Yea I’m really excited about that! My wife is doing great. She’s about as comfortable as a person can be in their last month of pregnancy.

Julie: Great! We’ll check in soon!

new fight date

To those who read this send a thought for Evan tanner, It was a shock to read that the other day and though i didn't know him that well i will always remember his fighting style and the Time when he won the Title. RIP champ....

sorry i haven't posted so recently, i was getting ready for my fight and damn the luck with that Hurricane. Now i gotta do it all over again lol and get ready for Nov 5th. Leonard is tough guy coming off some greats fights and really big KO over takaya so this will be a good test for me on my road back to a rematch for the belt. I can't wait to get back in there and I promise this fight to be one to watch. I wish you all the best.
